Plan around people and movement
Discuss patient and staff circulation, mobility aids, carts and the way each opening is approached. A clinic washroom, an internal corridor and a controlled staff entrance have different needs. Door activation can reduce the need to touch a control; it should not be presented as disease prevention.
Coordinate occupied-site work
Identify site access protocols, infection-prevention procedures required by the facility, working hours and isolation requirements. The facility team determines the appropriate procedures. Include alternate routes and room availability in the installation schedule.
Define the handover
Agree on who will use and maintain the controls, how faults are reported and who responds to washroom assistance signals. Provide equipment information and the agreed operating behaviour to the responsible facility staff.
