Touchless door retrofits

Make the existing door the starting point.

Retrofit projects begin with the installed equipment and its condition. A working operator may accept a suitable activation input, but power requirements, relay behaviour, wiring, clearances and locking arrangements still need review. A door that drags, fails to latch or opens inconsistently needs mechanical attention before an activation upgrade can perform reliably.

Scoping touchless door retrofits

A useful retrofit proposal separates reusable equipment from replacement items. It also identifies making-good work and any work by the building electrician or security contractor. For occupied buildings, include access arrangements and a plan for maintaining an appropriate route during the work.

List recurring faults and previous repairs, even if the door is working today. Tell us whether surface-mounted devices or conduit are acceptable and whether the opening is fire-rated or part of a controlled entrance.
